My cheap clamp starter vise I’ve had for over 10 years is simply not cutting it anymore. I’ve been looking at them but am a little overwhelmed. Anyone have a decent rotary vise suggestion that doesn’t cost as much as my first car?

People on here really seem to like Peak but I myself am partial to Renzetti. I like the Renzetti Saltwater Traveler with clouser jaws but I tie a mess of larger flies in addition to crappie jigs. The clouser jaws are nice so you can measure and mark them and keep consistent sizing.

Most folks go with Peak or Renzetti vises. Both of them are great vises. The Danvise and Griffin are the best budget rotary vise on the market IMHO. I have a Renzetti and Danvise and like them both.

I,m tying on Anvil Atlas and Anvil Apex, the Atlas took a couple weeks to break in and has covered my needs for about 15 yrs. between 7/0 and 24, vise is built like a tank and I don't see every wearing it out.

Well if you want a good vise the price starts at Peaks cost which is $164.95 and goes up from there. Quality starts here, then it's just a matter of what you like and want or need. Can tell you guys with thick hands end up leaving Peak for a Renzetti or something else like I use a Not-Vise, but now we are hitting a vise that's $400.

This is truth and fact, but maybe just maybe you can find someone quitting the tying end of this hobby and you can pick up their vise for less?

Oh and know there are a ton of vises out there and each have people that like them best, Regal, Griffin, etc, etc.

Thanks to you all. I think the Griffin Mongoose has won me over. I needed something versatile and travel friendly.
