Are they still being fairly easy to find? Was out Thanksgiving week and loaded up on nice fish. Planning to go tomorrow.

I am finding fish holding tight to the bottom on the side of humps, ditches, and roads. The fish I am finding are often overlooked unless you know what to look for. Look for small irregular bumps on the bottom holding tight. When I find these fish I spotlock over them and vertically fish jigs. I have livescope on my boat so I have been able to adjust my presentation to suit the mood of the fish. My wife is catching her fish using a cc spoon with a chart fly tied about 20 inches above it while I am using a mallure. We are bouncing them off the bottom to stir up the fish and get them suspended then reel up thru them to hookup. You have to adjust your speed because they will not chase the lures very far. I fish my malure exactly like Bob Mandelle has posted on this forum with the exception that sometimes I just bounce it up and down to stir up the fish then start catching them. I have also been catching them fished this way using a mepps 4. You do not need livescope to catch these fish just try what I am doing and you will find and catch fish. My last 3 trips have averaged 85 of the biggest sandies I have ever caught on Ray Roberts per trip. My freezer has plenty of fish in it so I only keep fish that are injured. My wife and I will be putting in at the state park today and I am confident that we we have a great day on the water and we will catch many fish.
