After 16 years, i finally decided to give it up. Im on about week 4 now. What are some of the alternatives that you guys are using? I am on the Grinds coffee pouches now, and they are ok. I tried Baccoff, but wasnt real impressed.

I would like to find something close to Cope Long Cut. Im not a fan of any minty flavors.

Walmart carries Smokey Mountain. It’s a non-tobacco non-nicotine substitute. I have been doing it for a year and its ok. It’s not Cope or Grizzly or Skoal, but it works for me.

Good luck. Stay strong.

So after 4 weeks the nicotine addiction is gone, and your problem is just with the habit of putting a dip in your mouth. How about trying something completely different, as opposed to something that mimics the habit you are trying to break?

Get yourself a bag of sunflower seeds. Or maybe chewing gum. Keep toothpicks around if you need to.

After nearly another month, things are still good. I am still using the Grinds coffee pouches, but only using maybe 2-3 pouches a day.

I used to have trouble falling asleep, then staying asleep. Since the tobacco is gone, those problems are gone as well. It has been surprisingly refreshing.

Keep it up Big Country. It gets easier. There will be times when you’re tested, but you can push through them. You’ll feel better about yourself when you do.

This is fantastic news! Sometimes people don't fully grasp what type of a stimulant they are dealing with until it's gone. For those that aren't as far along is you, I'd recommend they try https://www.northerner.com/us/zyn but you're past that and now just have to wrestle with the oral fixation. Don't chew on too many toothpicks please as that can cause all sorts of problems if you do it regularly. Whatever you do, don't grab the bag of candy or bad stuff happens. I see this mostly with smokers and not dippers though.

Congrats on the progress. Stick with the coffee if you can.

I’m going on over 2 years on Smokey Mountain herbal snuff. I dip about 1 can per week. Down substantially from when I started. I was doing 3-4 cans of Skoal wintergreen a few years ago. Feeling good. I may try this year to kick the oral fixation completely. Keep up the good work Big Country!

Grinds are great but eventually will start turning your teeth brown. I like Smokey Mountain.

I am cheap and now chew a piece of mint gum until it is soft then tuck between my lip and gum.

I dipped Copenhagen and Wolf for almost 40 yrs. Tried everything to quit and finally started using Hooch Snuff! They have all kinds of flavors and its all herbal! Highly recommend trying it if you're trying to quit!

Amarillo Snuff Company.

It's corn husks and made in Texas - A million times better than Backoff or Smokey Mountain. Texture is the most similar to long cut. Different "flavors" - different nicotine levels (100%, 50%, 0%). It helped me a out a bunch when I quit.

I dipped Copenhagen for 10 years. Quit 22 years ago. I tried nicotine gum, patches and herbal snuff. The best thing was to just put it down and don’t try a replacement. I chewed a BUNCH of gum and sunflower seeds. I still chew gum, sugar free. If I’m around someone who dips it still smells good but I know that is not an option for even just a “pinch”. DON’T do it once you quit, be done with it forever. Good luck to all trying to quit, it’s a hard road but your body and family will appreciate it.
