Ok, never used one of those engine covers I see on all the bass boats out there, so what am I missing?
What's it for besides looking pretty cool?

Just protects engine cowling from scratches and other minor damage. Pretty good investment.

Just protects engine cowling from scratches and other minor damage. Pretty good investment. Will help cushion it when you take the cowl off for maintenance etc. as well. I fish up in the woods a lot so it keeps the limbs from scratching it. I got mine from Outboard Covers of America as no one else would put Yamaha VMAX SHO 115 on theirs.

If you're not careful you can scuff the lower cowling if the hold down strap isn't tight enough... Dan
