Our club fished Bastrop this past weekend out of 21 people 10 pounds won it with a big bass of 2.4 pound.
There were catches of 8-12 inch fish but a 14 inch or bigger must have been hiding in the intake or discharge because we couldn't find them any where on the lake.
Water temp was 64- 69
Little flow from the discharge that's where the 69 water temp was
Vis was about 3-4 ft grass was out to 15 ft on main lake, the north end had grass in 6-14 ft and across from the discharge the grass stopped at 6 ft. The reeds were in 12-18 inches and that's where my boat caught most of the fish.
We worked the grass out deep but only caught dinks.
The scout areas were the most productive compared to every where else we fished. 10 bites

Thanks for the report. I wanna say "At least you had fun", but Bastrop is just so frustrating sometimes.

Fayette is nearly 2 hours away, Austin is full of punks and idiots in a $100k wake boat daddy bought, Travis is a pain in the [censored] due to the idiots in 48' cruisers and not big fish are really hard to find, Belton is usually a mud hole, Stillhouse is dead....

I miss the good ol day's when I could drive an hour in any direction and hit a good bass lake. Looks like LBJ is gonna be my go to lake for awhile.

(thanks for letting me rant on your thread!)

I didn't lose him at the boat. I shook him off cause I didn't want my hands to get "fishy"

Stillhouse has an incredible amount of vegetation. The last time we were there, we both got skunked. Couldn't believe it! When we got to the ramp, guys in a tournament said you have got to pitch the trees that are surrounded by grass.

a tough place to fish today. Beautiful, Chamber of Commerce weather that gave us 2 fish in 4 1/2 hours.

LOVE that honesty! Not enough of that on the threads really.
