I watched Scott Martins latest youtube and at the end theres a convo with his dad saying he is still waiting on BASS for a golden ticket to fish next year with Scott. Now it was my understanding now before they would consider you for a Legends exemption you had to fish a full schedule of the opens the year before which he didn't do. So will they give him a legends exemption yay or nay?

He has like 8 AOY and 20 wins or something nuts. Let him in

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!

I dont remeber them having a rule about fishing the opens in order to get the exemption. Did Fritts do that?

I've seen in mentioned after the revamp when all the guys left for MLF, they weren't going to just let you back in. Swindle and Palaniuk both fished the opens before they got the exemption.

Roland & Scott seem to think so.
Has been (greats) should not be allowed back in taking a spot away from a new angler but then I realize that I forget that BASS (and MLF) is a media/marketing company first and foremost.
Hell I would rather see ol'Biggs or Castlerock get in then Roland.
wink

I don’t believe they should TAKE a spot either, but it’d be fun to watch if they ADD a spot. I bet the old man could still hang.

I'd love to see brother Biggs get in, but that's another discussion.

There are rules and technicalities and then there is EARNED THE RIGHT. Don't just let Roland in, but welcome him with a big HUG!! He's more than earned it!

100% let Roland in to fish with Scott! He has earned it.

I doubt he would do that well, but I would like to see him give it a shot for 1 season.

The Legends exemption does not take away a spot from anyone other than possibly another legend. It’s an addition to the normal field of Anglers. If it does not get used it does not go to another pro.

I’m not sure why that offends guys so much. The things these Legends did for this sport should be appreciated. It’s not hurting anyone and it adds a layer of entertainment.

It definitely sounded like Roland is taking that exemption.
