What with this Covid, and lacking in better things to do, I fish about 6 days a week, taking Sundays off. Whenever Chuck (Banker) has better things to do, I normally fish alone in a heavily fished local community lake nearby, for sunfish. Even went out today with a cold brisk wind out of the North, when every one knows the sunfish just won't bite the day after a front. Well, I started deep (the lake's deepest is around 10') off the bottom for about 30 minutes and not even a nibble. I Switched over to a slip bobber set about 8 ft deep and nothing. Started moving my bobber stop shallower bit by bit until I was fishing about 3 ft deep. And holy moly, I found them, not over 10 feet from shore in around 4 feet of water. Now that just don't make no sense. All logic aside, I started catching 7-10 inch Redears one after another. I fished from 3pm until 430pm when the chill started working through my Jacket and headed on home. Figured I caught around 10 with nothing under 7 inches, no dinks. So I guess it's true "you just never know, unless you go". grin

Thanks PSalty, Chuck, and Curt. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. And yep, had the lake all by my lonesome. Normally do when the temps are above 90 or below 50. wink

I like reading about the thought process a person goes through as you try to figure them out for that day. Nicely done thumb

Thanks Vogey, BassPontoon, and Cellis for your responses. Getter Done, "Any records?" Naw, I have several records already on the same water body I fished. I did break my Redear record earlier this year by catching a 11.5 but wasn't worth the paperwork to break my 11.45 record. Chuck did help me break a Rio record though, by showing me where to cast. Thanks Getter, I really enjoy reading everyone's posts as well. I've learned a lot. laugh

Thanks for the response Pot Licker. I'm just blessed to be able to fish as much as I do.
