Looking to try whitney next week for some slabs. I have tried before but got skunked every time. Could someone please give me some pointers or point me in the right direction, I would truly appreciate any help. It's such a big lake and I just get overwhelmed on it. When I get called back to work, I will save up and hire a guide. Thanks in advance.

Honestly, if it were me, I'd just go to Aquilla, a couple miles down the road. Way better density of crappie, and a much smaller area to search. Plus, there are many, many, TPWD marked brush piles, in various depths there, as well as numerous patches of standing timber.

289, thanks. I was gonna see if I catch a few stripers then go crappie fishing otherwise I would go to Aquilla.
Billy, I am planning on going Monday.
Thanks Anthony, that whole north end is a river, lol. I am nowhere as good as you. You are a fish magnet.

Kimball Bend and the many other bends in the river as well as Nolan Creek and Hamms . All have Crappie right now and the bridge columns are loaded.

Good luck, you're going to have to work a lot harder than you want to right now.

Well I didn't get skunked.....I caught 1 crappie and 3 stripers, only 2 of them were keepers. I have a lot to learn and will keep putting in the time on the water.
