As Desull said above, on Lavon, they are in 30 ft brush. I don't believe the crappie migrate up creeks on Lavon like on other lakes. Most of the Lavon feeder creeks are heavily silted, filled with brush, and just too shallow. Anyone else catching winter crappie in Lavon Creeks?

You would be surprised. I wish I had more time to go and look at those creeks. The creeks I have been doing really well in are silted in also and no more than a couple ft deep.

Same here. I fished hard Saturday afternoon and was so mad that I couldn't get them to bite I went for a couple hours on Sunday. I caught 7 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. They were on brush in 30-35 fow but it was hard to get a bite.

Got back out to Lavon Saturday, tough bite was still in play early focused on deep stumps on the main lake out in front of mallard no luck , checked back in the creek there to no avail. Stopped at a text book submerged hardwood in 16 feet of water also no body home.

SI’d the dam stopped fished a few spots no bites , lots of guys there ducked out of the wind also hunting no catching at 2 pm went around to the west side of the pump house to get on some brush I had previously (last week)found what I think is Christmas trees in 20 feet of water so I went to check those and as the wind settled the boat on spot lock I could see on the back side or downhill side of the trees there was a drop down to 26 feet and at the bottom of that drop was a stump. I could watch fish on live scope moving up and down the drop almost back and forth from stump to trees. This is the most life I have seen out there is weeks. I took the TM off spot lock and let it drift back until that stump was 5 feet in front of me and started fishing.

I ended up with 14 all but 2 were over 12 inches.

Really interested in looking at that again with less wind and hope they are still there

I wasn't on Lavon but the last couple trips on a lake I know very well you couldn't buy a bite on a jig. Switched to minnows and it was like turning on a light switch. Saw them all bite on LS.
