I finally made it down to check out Lake Corpus Christi. I had a good day but only small fish and had to work for them. It was windy most of the day so not easy to paddle around but still managed to catch several White bass trolling- my first White Bass ever, I am relieved to finally mark those of my list. I kept one and it tasted pretty good, much less "Bassy" than largemouths. Caught a couple small LMB also. Not a lot of people but most of them caught fish too. One guy caught 3 or 4 small catfish from the pier while I was there but didn't see any fish of any good size. I had only one good bite that felt like something a couple pounds a few hundred yards from shore, but it threw the hook.

Thanks for the fishing report. Those white bass in the lake usually make a spring spawning run up the Nueces towards George West. Could be some good river fishing during that time. Years ago when I kayaked that lake for the first time I saw a good sized alligator.
