I ran way back into a creek on Roberts late yesterday, on a tip that there were sand bass "stacked up" in there. I got about two hundred yards from "the spot" when the engine died. Sounded like i had ran out of gas although I topped the tank off on my way out. So i started at the tank and worked my way to the engine. Turns out the connector from the fuel line the the engine had broken. The plastic plug that the connector fits over had broken off flush. I tried to zip tie the connector to the engine but it wouldnt keep pressure. I thought about making a gasket out of electrical tape to try and seal it up but i didn't have high hopes for that either. About that time a duck boat came out of the back end of the creek. The two hunters, brothers Scott and Nick, towed me (well out of their way) all the back to Johnson Branch, saving me from spending the night, literaly, up a creek, leaving them with just enough time to get back to Buck Creek before dark. I offered them money for gas and thier time but they just wished me a Merry Christmas and took off. I sure hope Santa Claus is REAL nice to those two.

Glad it worked out.

We should always remember stories like this when we see someone stuck on a lake or on the road. You will be in that spot eventually, so don't be hesitant to pay it forward.

Hope you have a quick easy fix to your fuel line, Mac. And hope the brothers still got their limits!
