For you guys that have built your own live wells, for big cats, what box did you use? Seen a lot in ATP tool boxes, but was worried about the heat on one. (I could keep it covered I guess) Seen a few in poly boxes, but they cost more than the ATP ones, if you need a big one. I was also wanting one that I could easily take in and out of the boat. I have a Pontoon, and there's really not a good place to mount it permanently, without taking my big cooler off the rear platform. Also didn't now if that much water on the back would make it too rear heavy, as they are rear heavy anyway.
Thoughts? Ideas?
Thanks in advance.

On a pontoon the possibilities are almost endless On a big one yes. Mine's a 16 footer, not as much room as you would think. I may take out one of my front seats when I put it in the boat, since I wont be using it all the time. Mainly just for tournaments.

Only put fish in it when I'm tournament fishing.... That's all I made it for... It has fresh water intake recirculation and water level variations depending on what type I put in the middle of it sticking up.... I've never used it in the summer..... If I did use it in the summer I would freeze some lake water and 2 l pop bottle jugs and float about three of them in there it holds 87 gallons
