I am looking for someone who works on boat trailers in the Denton, Lewisville area. I came home from Ray Roberts yesterday and noticed my rear wheels on my tandem trailer were smoking hot. I felt the brake calipers and they were too hot to touch. I am wondering if the brakes froze up. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks

jack up one side and put on jackstands, hand turn each wheel.

check surge stuff at the tongue, nothing bound up, lube everything with some wd while you're there.

if a wheel or both are bound up try barely cracking bleeder while gently pushing on the pad against the caliper (flat blade screwdriver to pry) and when it moves close bleeder. try to spin wheels again.

depending on trailer age you may need to flush the brake system if the fluid is dark brown, gunk will mess them up.

might also want to just change the pads on the brakes, bleed system good, repack bearings etc.

as for shop, no clue.

I suggest all the above so you have an idea of what needs fixed, going in blind is usually expensive.
