Can anyone tell me where I can buy them by the bag or however they are sold? As opposed to having to buy spinnerbaits that have it just before the trailer hook.

I just go to the pets section in any store and get a roll of air line for fish tanks

I think the last time I found it was at an autoparts store...they carried tubing in black / clear and I bought a small roll for like $5 and it lasted about 4 years. The 5th year it started to dry out, so I threw about 1/3 of it away.

trailer hook not needed if you're throwing them in the thickest cover available.

DIY options
aquarium tubing
Fuel line tubing
Heat shrink tubing
hole punch and a plastic milk carton

If you really want to buy a name brand option, these come in handy for hook keepers, thick nylon string style jig weed guard holders, and all kinds of lure modificaitons.

Get a hole punch and take it to a plastic coffee lid or a milk carton and you can make hundreds of little plastic disks. If your talking about the plastic tubing used to cover a hook point before sale then any source for small clear tubing like mentioned above.
