We are camping at the park, and I wandered down to the fishing pier with a crappie rod and sunfish bait. There was a guy there catching some big ones. I caught nothing and finally asked what bait he was using. He had a container of chartreuse worms. Live worms. Chartreuse. Said he got them at Walmart. They are apparently injected with some chartreuse stuff, which they don’t seem to mind. So I went and got some. I caught some whoppers before they quit biting. We’ll have another go tomorrow. The biggest sunfish was big enough that I could just barely get a grip on it to get the hook out.

Live Chartreuse worms. Never heard of such. But I have plenty now.

Green colored or Chartreuse worms have been around awhile. I have never use them. Good to know they were getting good results. I have fished Inks several times over the years and have done well. I have always gone during the summer months. thumb

I've also used the green colored worms from Walmart. They are strange, I always get the green die (or whatever it is) on my hands and it's hard to wash off. I do remember they work just as good as regular worms. Sounds fun.

Caught some again this morning. Gave them to a lady that most likely wasn’t going to catch anything. Going back at it at 4 pm.

Dang Vogey, I threw them all back. Don’t have any pictures. I used to bass fish when we came here, but I think I’ll switch to sunfish. My chartreuse worms and I caught 5 big ones in the last hour. Nobody else was catching.

603...I love to fish for both. Concentrate mostly on bass this time of year & sunfish in the summer. Take your phone/camera next time and snap a few photos of the best ones b4 you toss them back...that's what we do for the most part...Anyway, thanks for the great report...I also have used the "green" worms in the past but did not see much difference between those & the regular ones...

I can’t really say that the chartreuse worms are better that the ‘regular’ ones. I just followed what the guy told me. It worked.
