How are y’all mounting a trolling motor on the back of a fiberglass bay boat? I have a Sea Pro SV1900.

I don’t have a fiberglass but on my Lund I mounted it on the transom next to the motor. I have enough space in my trolling motor mount to mount it there...

I just pick my trolling motor up so that it is slapping the water. The water will move across the motor and waves and such to keep it cool.

If the transom doesnt have enough room to mount on the back, you could potentially build something that mounts on a rod holder. All you need is the smallest trolling motor. I think mine is a 30 lb thrust so doesn't weigh much

Mine is on the swim step ladder. Build an L transom wall out of cutting board (thick strong plasric) then mount it on boat transom or step ladder. The hight of the L wall depends on how you want to stow the splasher after use. Make sure to secure the splasher with a line, cuz couple of buddies lost their splashers while on plane. Good luck

If anyone is in need of a splasher - let me know. I sold my bass boat with the trolling motor and do not need it anymore.

I have a 21' Kenner and mounted a square piece of 3/4" wolmanized plywood in the corner of the cut out on the transom. I used stainless bolts thru transom but above waterline on 3 corners of plywood, works great. While off plane motor sits with prop shaft at waterline, on plane it is completely out of water and above bottom of hull so it's protected from striking anything while running at cruise speed. I have thought about attaching a safety cable as mentioned above, would be cheap insurance.

I have seen a friend mount a piece of 2 x 6 with two U bolts onto his grab rail on the gunnel of his boat, swivels on grab rail to get it out of water when running and puts motor at deeper part of boat so he doesn't need a splash guard to keep his floor dry.-Mike

I have a Sea Pro SV2200 I think and it has room on the transom right next the outboard.
