Guy's we have a crappie house that my wife and kids wear crappie out every year in. I have always kept them a generous supply of Eagle Claw Aberdeen snelled hooks 1/0 and 2/0. Occasionally they get hold of a good size bass or catfish and cannot lift them over the rail (About 3 Feet) without bending the hook. They do have a dipnet but it is sometimes on the complete opposite side of the house and is not accessible. I am searching for a better (possibly heavier wire) hook for them that is still snelled so they do not have to worry about getting a knot correct. What do y'all use ?

Use some true turn crappie hooks don't bend as easy as the traditional gold hooks.

might give them a try .

I use the fine wire circle hooks, in a 2/0, exclusively. Don't have to set the hook, plenty strong, and don't kill the minnow.

It will be easier to teach the crew to tie a palomar knot than it will be finding good quality snelled hook setup that you are seeking. Just my opinion.

The tru turn I use are not snelled. Tying a snelled hook is easy peasy, you can make your own . It was one of the first
knots I can remember my Dad showing me how to tie. He would buy a box of crappie hooks , we would sit at the
kitchen table and snell them.

fond memories
