Went out on 12/5 to cedar creek and had a great day. I ended up catching a total of twenty one with seven keepers. I was using four different types of bait (skip jack, punch bait, fresh blue gill and chicken breast soaked in strawberry jello) I caught all but one fish on the chicken breast. By the fourth fish I put chicken on 4 poles and left one with blue gill just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. None of them were monsters, but they kept me busy. I was catching them drifting as well as anchored up. I worked the coves first in 12-18 foot of water and moved out to drift 20-25 feet later in the day.
Nice job Shark! Hoping to get to CC this weekend for a few hours. Work keeps getting in the way of good fishing. Care to share what part of the lake you were on? What were the water temps you were seeing? More fish deep or shallow? This weather is so hot and cold, rain coming in Friday and Sunday, wind from S then N... Just not sure what to expect when I get there.
Thanks - stay safe! Ken

Sure thing, I was south of the Hwy 334 bridge up into the 2nd and 3rd coves to the East at first. That is where I caught a majority of the fish. I was fishing around 12-18 foot of water in the coves and I was anchored. Once the breeze picked up I drifted out of the cove into some deeper water around 18-25 feet and caught some bigger ones. The water temp was around 54 degrees if I remember right.
I am taking my daughter back out there Monday morning and will try the same area first then do some exploring. I will say that I caught my biggest one on fresh blue gill but that was the only one on fresh bait. Caught the rest on strawberry jello chicken breast.
I have caught fish in Prarie creek. Also been looking at the riverbed, east and south of Telfair island, when I catch the wind right. I have had good luck with the strawberry chicken lately also. Fresh shad still better, but chicken easier to catch... Lol.
Good luck, stay safe.
