Seen a post on Facebook of someone making Crappie Jerky 🤨 I gotta try this myself! Tried catching some fresh ones this weekend , didn't do any good this week.. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/12/full-62802-76580-20201204_180243.jpg) The Lone Sample ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/12/full-62802-76583-20201205_225258.jpg) Let them sit in worchester sauce for about 20 minutes, and them hit EM with Citrus Zest spice and heavy black pepper. It's different, but not bad at all Next time I'm a soak them in marinade for 24 like Beef Jerkey...
I'd Tack That!!

I’ve never heard of any type of fish jerky... Interesting Low fat content fish like Crappie is perfect for this. I think a 24 marinade soak would make this dynamite... I have recipe book for jerky, there are some for fish. Seems like I remember reading to leave the windows open... Couldn't even smell it, but then again Mama was makin Pozole
I'd Tack That!!

When we were kids in early 60's my brother would fillet small mudcats salt and pepper then hang on wash line for a few days. It wasn't bad when you never had stuff like that before.
