It would be a great MLF lake.. it definitely helps my confidence when on a chit streak. Have fun, it won’t be the last time you go.

Last time I was out there, which was about 2 weeks ago I guess, the lake had started to turn over. When that happens the fishing can be pretty awful. Last year the lake had multiple extended turnovers that lasted for a several month period. Hopefully that doesn't repeat this year. https://www.fayettecountyguidefishing.com/2019-fayette-turnover-recovery/

Last week the bass were on points in 12-18’ eating crankbaits pretty good. But they were all Fayette cookie cutters (16-19”). The bigger ones are elusive to me at the moment. Found some nice 20-23” bass in the spring and summer, but can’t reconnect with them this fall. Good luck to you! Jerk baits and cranks should get you all the bass you can handle.

There is a place called “Granny’s Retreat” about 1.5 miles from Oak Thicket Ramp. She has several older houses converted to hotel type rooms. Each with two beds and a shower. One has two rooms and a living room w/kitchen. Not a bad place and your gear will not get stolen. Stayed there many a times. The lady who owns it name is Rin and her number is 281/229-8045.

Good info guys! Hopefully it will be a great day. If I was looking for a giant I'd go to Fork or Falcon. Never been and got a couple of days to go out there!
