Smurfs: Most of the stocking locations where I fish are large enough for people to spread out and have some distance between us. However you are going to always have a person who is going to get right up next to you if he sees you are catching fish. Ifishlbj: Glad you are catching some fish. Keep posting your reports. Love reading and seeing how anglers in other parts of the State are doing at the other stocking locations.

Side Note: What is the ratio of trout being caught on Super Dupers compared to the Berkley Trout Bait?

Start with lures and when they quit
mu lures start the baits, just keep on
catching.

Thanks Curtis and Not2Old2Fish for the replies. Curtis. So far I have caught most of my trout on the Super Duper. Right now it's about 3 to 1. Just like Not2Old2Fish says. If they quit hitting the lure, change to bait!

Thanks Chuck. That is what my ratio is. 3 to 1 on the Super Duper. I am also getting better on the fly!

I wonder how much the hatchery has to what the fish will bite. All our stocking locations we've fished have been from TFFC and our catch ratio has been 4 trout bait/ balls o fire, 1 gold super duper. All fishing trips have been on the day of stocking.

Thanks BigJoeTX1212 for the reply. That is a good question about how much the different hatcheries play in the trout bite? I do know that they feed them pellets while in the hatchery. I think the bite depends on the last time the trout were fed before they were stocked, and the amount of time it takes them to get familiar to their new surroundings. As for the lure bite compared to the bait bite, I think water clarity plays a huge factor. The clearer the water the better the lure bite. As for the different type of trout baits, I have no idea why "Fire Balls" work better than the Berkley Trout Baits or certain colors do better than others in different parts of the State. Interesting to say the least.



Side Note: I do know based on my experience that trout bait usually works better a couple of days after the stocking day!

I might just have to check it out a little sooner!
