Any of you use UV glue? What brand do you use? Do you have to have the light or can you use the sun?

I finally got some to try and I like it. I have the Solarez in the blue bottle. I have one of the lights and I have not tried using the sun. Don't know if it would work or not.

This stuff sure beats messing with epoxy or super glue. smile

Yeah, that's my thing: I'm tired of using super glue.

I have used Clear Cure Goo for years; great for spoonflies. I use the Loon knot sense occasionally; it cures in sunlight. The CCG cures tacky, and I generally coat it with some Sally’s. I have only used the Loon product on the knots in my leaders to make them less prone to snagging grass. If there is a lot of floating grass I use tapered leaders to get away from knots. I like the CCG, but since I seldom play with spoonflies it’s been a while since I used it. If there is an epoxy that doesn’t dry tacky you would prefer it to CCG, I’m sure.

I have used several brands It is handy. Be careful with that Solarez that;s the one a friend nearly burnt his face off with. Use it with a fan near and yes you semi cure with the light on the bench then let them finish curing in sunlight for rock hard finish
I only use it in a pinch other than that It's Sally's and super glue, call me old fashion my fish don't mind

It’s a must have for me and some of the euro style flies I tie. I use Solarez Bonedry and a uv light

Great light for the price

I use UV glue almost exclusively, Sally Hansons also has UV glue look in the section that says light required. I have found that if the UV light you use is not strong enough the glue will not harden completely therefore tacky. Some glues harden quicker. The sun produces the strongest UV light so if the glue is exposed to the sun it will harden quicker than with a UV light. UV glue makes nice minnow heads and secures eyes wonderfully.

I got some stuff off Amazon, now brand I guess, came with a free uv light. I recommend it, better than super glue. Or varnish. You can put down a thin layer and harden it then come back over the top.. if you have a thick, thin and flexible glue its worth the $$ even for a cheap one. Just remember to make sure the batteries are good in the torch or you don't cure it well haha

The glue is expensive and a good light are expensive, but they are well worth it!! I think CCG is out of business? I switched off of CCG, because of its "industrial" nature, years ago. Been on Loon for awhile now. Still looking for a good non-battery powered light though!
