Just wondering if anyone else was fishing Falcon the day after thanksgiving and if so did you hear the gunfire on the South end Friday morning? I was back in a cove so really couldn’t tell but it sounded like it was on the Mexico side. It went on for several minutes and didn’t sound like target practice! I don’t fish there very often so maybe this is a normal thing, maybe a military exercise?

I guess I should’ve said that this was a couple hundred rounds in about 5 minutes, sounded like several different guns. Not deer huntin for sure, if they were there wasn’t much deer meat left to process.

Apparently there is a government shooting range below the dam. When I was there in February, there was a lot of gun fire in that direction for about a half hour and that’s what I was told by someone who lives down there. Could be different than what you heard, though.

That sounds about right, there were some fully auto’s mixed in with all the other shooting. That was about all the excitement I had, the fish must have known I was coming.

I also heard full auto when I was there.

There is a government owned shooting range behind the dam.. It is used by most all of the acronyms..

Pretty common to hear them wasting some ammo..
