I've never needed any help in my life until this year. I'm blessed to have a couple great friends who were there for me during a time of need. Not financial or anything, just being there for a buddy during a tough time. I'm trying to think of a way to express gratitude with some sort of very nice gift.
Has anyone ever given you a really great thank you gift?

I have received nice bottle of whiskey for helping a buddy out. We ended up drinking it together that night after building his fence.

About 10 years ago, I took my buddy to the TPWD office and got him his lifetime combo license for helping me out.

My neighbor had knee surgery this year so I took care of his yard for a couple months. He dropped off two 30 packs of natty at my door one day. That's was nice.

I had a friend once who I helped out when he was in transition with a divorce.
Let him stay with me for almost nothing for 4 months...
He thanked me by stealing all my guns and ghosting one day.

Several years ago, I worked for a small family owned machine shop. One day the owner, the dad of the family, walked up to my workbench and laid 5 $100 bills on the bench. He said he had been in the business 30 years and I was the first person to ever go a year without missing a day. And he said he was counting his sons too.

He thanked me by stealing all my guns and ghosting one day. Is he still a he? I would reckon so. But could not swear to it.

The thing that has worked best for me is a nice meal at a restaurant that you know the person wouldn't go to because it's out of their price range. A good meal with some fellowship over a few drinks has always been most appreciated by those who I have treated.
