Went to Northside Marina this morning and by 10:30 probably stuck around 50 fish but only 9 keepers. Pretty much shut down after that. Keepers were nice though. Jigs of the day were Bluegrass and a color I call Cold Water Shad. Picture doesn't show the color pattern all that well but PM me and I will send you pics of the materials I use to tie it. Probably caught 80% of my fish on it.

Thanks for looking. [Linked Image]

What's your definition of a giant crappie??? That was my least impressive lake I've ever fished until Hamilton. I still need to send that lake an apology letter for the things I said about it!!! roflmao

Pretty lake though! Caught lots of fish. That said I'm maybe a touch spoiled in E Tx. cheers

Don't know where you fished, the bigger fish I am referring to have been taken from several spots, Rocking chair, road bed between Rattlesnake and Oil can island and the Cut just north of Windblown Point and Bomber island. Numerous 2 lb and larger. Most caught with silver and gold slab, Bandit cream color cranks and 4 inch flukes , white ice in tandem.

Cool! 2 pounds plus is a good fish anywhere! I think biggest we had was a 1.42 and biggest weighted in was 1.79 but that was last August as well! I couldn't tell you where all we fished! We caught fish from Wise county park down to the bridge! Hooked some big flatheads crappie fishing there! That was fun! thumb

Surprised no Drum were taken, the lake is packed. Keith Bunch, local guide for past 16 plus years boasts of a 22 lber this past spring. They simply destroy your baits of all varieties .
