Went out twice with cut shad on jugs and drifting. The Blues are hungry. After catching enough for a couple fish fries we started throwing them back.
The points didn't produce. However, the open water was non stop action

Braved the wind, Braved the cold, on Ray Roberts this morning, but threw in the towel when it started raining too. Found a ton of fish stacked in 20-25 foot, couldn't entice a bite with anything we had in the boat. I had minnows, nightcrawlers, jello chicken, shad, skipjack, punchbait, jello garlic hotdogs, and shrimp in the water. One nibble on the shrimp, and not a single hit on anything else.

Aww, and I was thinking about Ray Rob too...

Fish were stacked and packed in 20-25 everywhere we went, in 18 foot or less nobody home anywhere. Cold rain and front threw them for a loop, I guess. They were all surrounded by tightly packed groups of shad in 17-20 foot. Couldn't find a busted up bunch of them, like they were being run through, anywhere we went.

How big were the big ones?

We saw quite a few on the side imaging that had to be 25 plus, and a few really big ones. All were either tight to the bottom or just above it. Shadows were very close, on the ones that were suspended. Also saw some big schools of hybrids, or sandies. I haven't gotten good enough with my new sonar to tell the difference in size yet. We were around the Lone Oak Bridge, and Pecan Creek area. I wanted to get back in the timber more, but just didn't want to risk clobbering another stump, and the wind was kicking our butt anyway. Then, it started to rain. Only got to be on the water a couple of hours, disappointing.

I wanted to know the size of the big Lewisville fish the original poster caught or see some pics. A little Birdie told me the fish were biting out deep Z.

Biggest we kept was 10#'s. All were 7 - 12 #'s
