So that's the debate I've been having with my self as I head out to get bait in the mornings. It seems one day they want one or the other. So I put a mix of each in the tank to test out my theorythis weekend it really didn't seem to matter if you were on box fish. They were eating about what ever I put down about as fast as i could get them baited as long as it was the size they wanted, roughly 2.5 to 3.5 inch baits. Most of the box fish came in the edges of the flats or chanel ledges in 25 to 35 FOW. The thing I found interesting was all of our bigger fish came on about 4 to 4.5 inch gizzards in a little deeper water, 50 to 60 ft out over the river and creek chanels. They wouldn't bite as fast but would hit in waves with multiple hook up at once then nothing for 5 minutes. The fish would lock under the boat and the sonar continued to show fish throughout but it seemed like they would just hang out until they seen one of their buddies jump they all jumped. Eather way it was another awsome weekend on Texoma. Fish can be caught about any way a person wants to try right now. Give us a call at Southern wind Guide Service to get in on the fun. Funny you said that. I ended the morning on the point going into catfish bay. The fish were under me. I caught a few then nothing but the fish never left. I waited about 15 minutes then bam 2 more then nothing but they were still there. My only over for the day was on gizzard shad.

I did notice some of the overs we caught this weekend had eggs starting to form.
