Any advice on Lake Bastrop with the weather getting colder?Would like to go after some catfish as well as get a jerk on a lure. I like catching my own bait but don’t know where the shad hang out. Just got this boat and still have to put electronics on it. New to me boat and a lake I know nothing about. Can you save me a little hunting?

Show respect to other boats, enjoy every day and every bite on the water you never know when it’s going to be the last.
Keep a tight line and hook baited can’t catch ‘em on credit.

Tons of grass all over the lake. Haven't been lately but others said it's pretty low. You can try a frog or buzzbait early, but I've done better fishing the outside edge of the grass lines.

Thank you so much. I love my buzz baits. A friend of mine says I tie them on the wing mirrors on the way to the lake to break them in. Sounds like fun. I have a flat bottom so I’m built for shallow. You wouldn’t happen to know or noticed schools of shad anywhere?

Thanks again. Sounds like my kind of place. It’ll be a first for me to throw a net from the boat. If you see a guy in a big flat bottom throwing a net that looks like a taco don’t laugh too hard. grin
