Finally made a run over to Navarro Mills today. Never been on the lake before and didn’t know what to expect. I went there because the wind was going to be out of the north and it looked like the whole north side of the lake would be somewhat protected. I launched at Oak Park and just started idling around in 16-19’ of water. Didn’t find anything at that depth but as I was headed for a cove I went over what looked like a submerged Christmas tree in 13’ of water. First drop produced a hit and a miss. I missed 5 solid thumps on that thing. But did end up catching 5. Moved on along just looking for any kind of structure. I found a submerged boat that had some fish around it but they weren’t taking anything from me. I headed to the south side, I’m thinking it is Liberty Hill Park, and started heading toward the dam. Came across what looked like a collapsed brush pile in 11’ of water. I caught 7 fish off of it, and missed 3 really nice fish. The wind was howling by now and it was just to rough to stay out there. Cruised on across the dam and found what looked like submerged timber. Pulled one fish off of it. That was the deepest I caught one. It was 19’. Caught a couple more on the way back in. It started to rain about 2:45, so it was time to go. Ended the day with 15 total kept, with 2 dinks released. Really good day all things considered. Water temp was 61 degrees. All fish were really tight to the structure or hugging the bottom of the structure. 1/4 oz. jig head was a must in the wind. Black and chartreuse was the best color although I did catch a couple on Tennessee Shad color. I’m looking forward to getting back there when the wind is not so high and is out of the south.

Keep looking forward. That’s why windshields are larger than rear view mirrors.

This day it was a white head from wet rooster jigs. I typically fish unpainted heads, but I still have some 15lb braid that will pull through the gap in the hook eye, so I’ve started to use painted jigs that have that gap covered. When this braid is finished I’ll go to heavier braid and back to unpainted.

That explained crappie fishing success, within a few hours on any body of water putting the time in finding structure will bring success..... More than likely more success than going to any particular spot..... Just putting the work in using your electronics.......
Excellent catches and many more to you......
