I read that a product called Quick Coat Lure Dye will work on hooks. Anyone tried dying hooks red? Is it durable?

I do not know about dye. But I know you can use red paint.

First of all you cannot dye black nickel hooks red. The hooks have to be either gold or bright nickel. Second of all if you dye them, yourself, they will not hold up even if you bake the dye. The hooks should be dyed from the manufacturer for the best longevity. Even then it is not guaranteed.
