So I get that gun nuts have bought every box of .223, 5.56, 308, 9mm, etc. What I'm not understanding is the rest of it. The pure hunting rounds. I have enough for current need. That said I was gonna buy a rifle for kid in a certain caliber and there is really no point in buying said gun when I cant find ammo for it anywhere. I would think at some point others run into this and it has to impact gun sales.

9mm/5.56 hoarders ran out of stuff to buy so fast that they turned to .243 and .30-30 to feel like they are still "preparing". Or the people that usually don't panic and only own hunting rifles saw how crazy it was getting and started stocking up.

I am doing some work at SWFA and it is pure craziness. Talked to a guy the other day who was desperately looking for 9mm. He then mentioned he had a stash of about 60,000 rounds of 9mm already....... Are you serious dude? Calm down.

I have a little of 9mm and 45 ACP on back order but I really don't expect to get it. It's the new TP.

I had a friend on FB talking about it when one of his left leaning friends said something about hoarding!

I started to ask him what his idea of an ammo hoarder was but did not have the time to waste on such ignorance.

I'll tell ya what's stupid - every morning our Academy has the same line of people lined up waiting to get in to buy up whatever daily allotment of ammo they can. I think most are in the resale business....

I don't want to hoard. I want to shoot. I want 7.99/20rd packs of 556 again, just to shoot. This whole thing is retarded just like toilet paper hoarding.

Regarding your rifle issue, I saw at two different Academy's that they had shelves stocked with 25-06. I bought a box to shoot.... It's out there, just have to be lucky I guess.
