New to fishing Lewisville so any help locating crappie would be great. Tried Saturday under the 35 bridge and came out with 8 keepers but slow and far between on the bites.

Thanks in advance.

The better fish, for me, have been coming off timber and brush piles. The bridge really gets beat to death. Its a good location to try colors on jigs and figure out the depths the fish favor, not the best place for quality. Just my 2 cents.

You can go to the creeks if you wanna play bumper boats. I would suggest that you fish the dam area or any of the treed areas of the lake. If the surface temp is below 60, look for fish to be 20-30 foot deep at the dam. If you fishing trees, look for trees 40-50 foot deep but fish them at 20-30'.

I haven't seen a boat all year in the creeks I have been fishing.

Creek fishing has certainly been hit and misses at this point. of course, I have been in Maryland the last six days hunting and have not had the chance to keep up with it. Now we have rain. Ugh!
I hope it gets better soon.

I'll be out there tomorrow as well. 8 keepers is good right now. I know of a good milk run and didn't catch more than two last weekend with 4 poles in the water.

Is there anything you are looking for when fishing the dam (in terms of down imaging/side imaging)? I have never had much luck on the dam for crappie.

The lake was horrible Wednesday with the wind and the rain that came in we caught one baby all day. Will try again in the next few days and see what we can come with.

If you have either LiveScope or Down Image, look for fish holding just off the bottom. Otherwise, look for deeper bushpiles, which there are dozens of. The crappie will be there most of the winter. Fish larger plastics with 1/4 oz jig heads.
