Not Listening to old Soldiers when they told me not to bust my A$$ doing Army stuff and outdoor activities in general. The wimpy guys I came up with are all healthy. I have bad knees, back, elbows and shoulders. I always had to win, jumped out of planes, ran Army Ultra Marathon in 1986 (took 3rd place in 35 mile run). Played football in HS, Boxed, Lived in and managed a Karate School. Fought and whipped blackbelts regularly. Climbed cliffs and mountains freestyle, no ropes or equipment. Fell over 100 feet one time, walked away. Didn't really feel pain like other people, enjoyed fighting. It has all caught up with me. When I go to the VA the Doctors are amazed that I look So young but have the spine of a 90 year old bull rider.

I would say, putting my career ahead of what seemed to be at the time, insignificant family things. I learned pretty early on this was a mistake, but still regret missing some things.

I've got 3 regrets.
1. Not going to work for the railroad when I was 19. My family were railroad people. And to be honest if I had I would have screwed it up at that age. .
2. Getting married the first time. I love my 2 daughters. But was once again just to stupid.
3. Not taking my health seriously. I had very high blood pressure. They say in the 1 percentile group. Some falls back on my doc for managing it and not treating it. 3 heart attacks and 9 stents later it will eventually catch up with me. Im blessed to be here today.
