My dad just got laid off from his company of 25 years.
"Corporate Restructuring"
What makes it worse is his wife just got laid off 2 months ago so now they have no income.
They'll be fine financially. They could probably retire early if they wanted to but they won't. Still sucks though. So ready for 2020 to be over.

Sorry to hear, sounds like they will ok, which is good. Iโm waiting for this early next year, hoping I can make another year or two but more cutbacks are likely
