Thanks to all who prayed last week for my friend’s Chris wife’s brain surgery (2days worth)
Hello all, A few weeks ago as we were talking to Dr. Oii, Joni’s Vascular Neurosurgeon. He stated that given the size and location of her AVM (Aterialveinal Malformation) we could either live with it and the 2% chance that it could possibly rupture and threaten her life and increase the odds by 2% each year thereafter or we could have it surgically removed by opening her head up and cutting it out. He would only agree to the surgery if the pre-surgical imaging and testing showed that there was enough margin between the AVM and the surface of her brain. If it touched the brain the risk of paralysis was too great. Joni didn’t want what she called a ticking time bomb in her head so we wanted the surgery. After the imaging showed sufficient operating margins, Dr. Oii agreed to do the surgery. He’s a young Christian man and he told Joni that it would now be between her, him and God. In between the time of that discussion and the operation, Joni felt that God was telling her to get Baptized, which she publicly did. That day a man who has been wrestling with God about his own baptism was inspired by Joni’s act of obedience and followed her in baptism. (God uses each of us to do his work And Joni became Gods tool that day). Fast forward to the operation. As he was about to cut into her head Dr, Oii said to Joni “you, me and God”. He operated for 13 straight hours. The longest hours of my life as I wrestled with whether we had made the right decision or not. He then came to me, the only person left in the waiting room and explained how the AVM was much larger and dangerous than the imaging had shown. He said that part of it had been somehow hidden but he didn’t mention where and that the other part of it was pressed against the main artery in her brain. If he were to have nicked the artery during his cutting then Joni would have suffered a massive stroke. He was able to remove the AVM but he told me that there would most certainly be post operative numbness and possible paralysis of her left side that would require extensive physical therapy. I wasn’t allowed to see her that night and I drove home praying to God and fearing the worst and thinking of how we would overcome the obstacles together. Early the next morning I walked into Joni’s room to find that she had feeling in all of her extremities but that was only a small part of the miracle. Joni spent all of Friday slowly recovering and trying to heal. This morning (Saturday) on his day off Dr. Oii came into her room because he felt like he had to tell us the details of the operation. He said that as he was trying to remove the AVM the area began to bleed. He was able to stop the bleeding and upon cutting away all that he could see, he tried to remove the AVM but it wouldn’t come out so he tried again and it still would not release. He was able to lift it just enough to see a horrible sight. Part of the AVM was under part of Joni’s brain. Had this been known, there would not have been an operation and a rupture would have been likely in the near future. He looked at me and said do you know what happened then? I had an enlightened feeling and I asked him if God took his hand into her brain and removed it. He looked me and then Joni through watery eyes and said “that’s exactly what happened”. Dr. Oii had been part of a real miracle and wanted no part of the credit. He knew that God had taken over his hand and accomplished what he couldn’t. I thank this humble man for letting God use him in this way and I’m convinced that God hid the extra AVM from detection so that the operation would be performed. Joni walked today and had no business walking . She waved her hand as she did and had no business waving. So very many people were praying for her and God honored it and granted the impossible. Except all things are possible through God! I’m not writing this story to say look what God did for us for there are much better and more deserving Christians. I owe this to God so that he can change hearts and start gathering his flock, for the world is changing fast and the time is short. Remember that Jesus said that he is the great physician and he can heal your soul. If you feel that God is knocking on your door, don’t wait until you think that you’re worthy because none of us are, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. He who believes in Jesus shall have eternal life and your sins will be washed away by the blood of Jesus. Thank you Almighty God for sending your son to die for the sins of someone who isn’t worthy but is so very grateful. May God bless all of you. Chris Sent from Mail for Windows 10
