Got out again Friday but with a late start. Engine wouldn’t crank over. I tried it in the driveway for some reason. Usually do it at the ramp. I just bump it to make sure it will crank. It’s to hard to load without the big motor. Anyway disassembled the starter and cleaned the armature and brushes and reassembled and it worked fine. Got on the water about 11:00 and fished until 3:00. Had 22 fish and was gonna move to my last spot to get the final 3, and guess what. It wouldn’t crank over. So I dropped the trolling motor and headed for the ramp. It’s over 2 miles from the dam to Dairy Hill! It took about an hour and fifteen minutes.
The pattern was the same as my last report except a few fish were holding in the brush, but the majority were suspended at around 15-18’ in 24’ of water. Black and chartreuse was the ticket again on 1/4oz. jig head. If you can get it front of them they will nail it. Didn’t seem to matter where I spot locked the fish were always behind me. So I just fished the back side of the Livescope.
I did order another starter. When I went out his morning, to take it apart again, wouldn’t you know it, it worked. I took it to Bardwell for a couple of hours after cleaning every electrical connection and it started fine multiple times.

Nice haul! I’m thinking of heading there this week. It’s not a bad little drive from our town.

That's why they call it fishing and not catching!
