Both last weekend on Sam Rayburn. Not sure about central Texas lakes though.

They’re still kinda scattered starting to move to a more predictable pattern. We have had highs above average for quite a while now, so it’s slowed the shad movement a little, so the bass haven’t had to move much.

If you fished 5 hours in the main lake and did not get a bit then .............................

They are scattered literally everywhere on the entire lake. Like they always are in the fall in Texas. That's what makes fall fishing so difficult. We caught fish last weekend from 20ft deep main lake to 6in of water in the back of a creek and everywhere in between. One here one there. Nothing really grouped up and nothing you could depend on to be there tomorrow. Maybe there is a "great migration" of fish to the creeks in northern lakes, but it usually just doesn't happen that way in the fall here in Texas. The bait scatters and the fish follow. The fall is always a grind. That's the reason deer hunting is so popular.

nice to know thank you very much. I want to be a really good bass fisherman. I want to head to the lake and already know where most of them are and go to that area. Watching all the youtube videos and seeing everybody catching bass almost every cast then going fishing all day and not getting a bite sucks. the comments and advise and knowledge really helps me and i appreciate it. I will continue to study and continue to fish.

I fished Lake Nac the last weekend of October and had best bite in 17 to 20 ft of water. It was tuff until we found fish on main lake point. It was a blast until we left at dark. It is a trip my brother-in-law I look forward to every year. They were just nice fish 1 1/2 to 3 lbs. We actually caught 61 on this one point. I look forward to next year.

Maybe you suck at fishing? I’ve had to wrestle with this question too.
