Yep I bet they did. The fish biologist for the lake told me last month they put in a request to stock bluegill and catfish. So I guess they got it approved. Works for me. I love to fish for those blue gills when the summer comes.

Tom...I wouldn't surprise me if they dropped a ton of sunfish around the fishing docks & cabins to lure more bank anglers to the lake. If I ever get there when someone is actually working I will ask...They have sunk quite a bit of money into the two parks...maybe they had some left over & bought some fish...Now, if they could only control the dam Buzzards...

Steve. The TPWD biologist for the lake put in the request for more bluegill and catfish. He said they want to improve the numbers based on their past fish surveys. I know the catfish numbers have reportably really declined over the years. He had sent me some past surveys and it did show the blue gill numbers although quite good had declined as well. Im all about improving the bluegill fishery.

The biologist said they stocked regular bluegill. Lepomis macrochirus. I look it up and they can be called copper head as a local name.

Tom...ok...The Coppernose is a sub species of the bluegill ( Lepomis Macrochirus Purpurescens)...A lot of the bigger ones we catch out of Fayette are the Coppernose...

I was at Fayette on Monday since it was a beautiful day. Caught around 15 gill and couple of bass using crickets with drop shot. Biggest gill was about 9 in. Tried the minnows first with minimal action.
