I used to give my deyogees nylabones until I put together the following equation: (nylabone + [lab or lab mix]) = cracked teeth = @ ~$1500 each for extraction and infection meds. Three broken teeth (two different dogs) and I quit giving them nylabones.

I know someone who gets her Great Dane toys at some pet store near her home that are "guaranteed" unbreakable and un-chewable. Her GD goes through 2 of these "toys" a week and she saves the sales slips and returns them for new toys at no charge. Costs her gas $$ but hey.......

I also know someone who has an adult (~4 yrs) female GD that has never chewed anything and still does not - go figure . . . . . .

Ha! No such thing. My whatevertheheckitis breed will destroy a hard rubber toy in almost no time at all. Annual Christmas present is one of those 10 pound rawhide bones. She'll have it eaten within an hour. DW says we could give her an old truck tire and it'd be scattered all over the house in hours. The only toys that slow her down are the larger plush things with squeakers in them. She'll spend days, sometimes weeks, nibbling (not chewing) at them, pulling the stuffing out and leaving it scattered all over the house, pull the squeakers out and chewing them to little pieces and leaving them scattered all over the house.

Fishing, a man knows a serenity of soul and peace of mind that he finds in doing nothing else, and it makes no difference whether or not he catches anything. The mind of a true fisherman is not on petty subjects.

I got a little Tasmanian Devil myself. The black kong toys branded as extreme, seem to hold up well. However I think the part she like IS ripping the guts out of toy. So I tend to buy her cheap ones she CAN destroy. Its fine with me since she is content to leave the furniture alone. Heck she even knows which stuffed animals are hers, and which belong to my daughter. Luckily she's really good about only chewing up her toys.

It's been my experience as they get older that the desire to chew subsides a little, not all the way but some.

Also had luck with the "water bottle toys" The animals where you stick a empty water bottle inside them. She seems to like the crinkly noise it makes, and I can just replace the bottle when it gets torn up.

Take an empty coke bottle and drop a few pieces of kibble in it. It won't last long at all, but it is free. Works best with coke bottles, or some of the water bottles that are made with thicker plastic.

We have a 3.5mo old dane and she loves the thick rawhides from costco. It takes her about 3 weeks to go through one. Kong products are good, and I think they have a warranty that if they fail they will replace them for free. You have a beautiful Dane. They are the best dogs in the world yes they are huge but they are the kindest mot friendly dogs out there. Your's looks like our first dane except she had some white on her chest and paws.
