Met TomRom at Park Prairie at 8:00 am. Had really been looking forward to fishing with Tom in his new super secret spot, where he practically guaranteed me a 40 bass day. roflmao Well...it just didn't pan out. Was a super slow day all around. Had Skunk all over me until 11:17, but ended up with 5 bass & 9 bluegill. Found a small pod of gils in 15 feet of water & that made my day. Plus, it was a nice day to be out & enjoy the wildlife so I took a few pics. Also met up with Alan (Choclabdog) who was searching for bass as well. Pretty much all fish came in the afternoon & best bass bite was just before dark. Water temp was mid 70s to 90s at the discharge. Most bass caught on swimbaits & the gils came on Gulp Alive minnows. Yes it was a nice day was all I could about say about it. Fishing was really slow for sure. I only boated 7 bass all day. My secret spot bombed out for sure. Haha. The last 3 times fishing there I boatel over 100 bass. They were not there. The LiveScope backed that up as well. But all my other secret spots did not produce either. . I did not try for any bluegill but maybe should have. Its funny, if you believe in the fishing tables which I basically dont, last Friday when I went I hammered them and the tables said it was going to be a poor day. Yesterday the tables said the bite was going to be good. The bass must not be using that calendar. I did notice the white pelicans have returned. They were gone the last several times I was there.

Great report. Those slow days just help us appreciate the fast action ones.

I do not use the tables. I have found that the fish can't read them. Go when you can go and catch what you can catch.

Good post and some good fish. The Bluegill watch continues and they are still being added on the "High Lite Reel". Good job. woot

Side Note: Are you still catching the Bluegill on the same color minnows? Also love the last two pictures. coolio

Thank you Mr. Steve and Tom Ron for the report All the pics are great but I have to agree the last 2 are what framed pic and postcards are made of.

Barry..Totally agree...You just can't have a great fishing day every time even though that's the goal.
Curt...I don't even bother to look at the tables...I believe Barometric Pressure & cloud cover (or lack of it) are way more important.
Curtis...All the sunfish were caught on the Chartreuse Shad color. I did throw a Gulp Alive brown cricket for a while with no takers.
Cellis/Psalty...I couldn't believe that Osprey let me get so close...just lucky...they usually fly off way before I can get that close...
Tom...Can't wait to hit more of your super secret spots ! breakdance

Steve, thanks for the vote of support for my fishing guide services roflmao. Next time dont be shy and ask for a refund. haha. I have to ask did the buzzards do any damage to your truck? After closure inspection of mine while cleaning the buzzard [censored] off of it today, those beaky little bastards ate a lot of my windshield seal and trashed the seals on Lomax trifold bed cover. About $1500 in damages just for the parts. Im glad they did not scratch the paint on the truck itself. Park Prairie is off my ramp list. I talked to the attendant and he said people throwing trash and leaving the lid partially open on the dumpster attacks them. But I think its the gill netters pulling up to the other side of the ramp and cleaning their fish is the main culprit. I watched the non-hispanic cast netter clean a bunch of tilapia right beside the ramp yesterday when I was taking my boat out. Glad i got good insurance.

Doc...Thanks for the reminder...it can always be worse...

Tom...They did not eat my new wiper blades, (like last week) but I do see some scratches in the paint. They also made an attempt to eat me spare tire on the trailer, but did not succeed...I will also be launching at Oak Thicket in the future...

Thanks Vogey. I have seen a slight color change in the baits I am using for the fall and winter bites. Seems that Chartreuse/Black are getting the best results for me! woot

I had a fishing buddy tell me the park, not TXPWD, stocked a ton of sunfish in Fayette recently. Haven't confirmed it. Not sure why they need to stock them. Every shock survey I've been on at Fayette has had an unbelievable amount of bait fish (shad, sunfish, perch, blue gills, tilapia etc) Hard to believe how big the shad are in that lake.
