True but you can certainly understand the point he’s trying to make Lee.
Big college degrees and some are still to stupid to see that they will still be paying for that loan. There will be more "free" college for them to pay for with their taxes. If we are going to forgive loans, let me go buy a boat, truck, house, and all the toys I want and let's get that paid for.
What the skipper said. I put three thru college with them working a part time job to help, my 2 daughter-in-laws paid their way with loans and have paid off 100% of them as did 1 of my sons. If they forgive all of these loans, I want a refund, a VERY LARGE REFUND.

There we go Butch. That’s the way to look at the positives. I hope I don’t pay for your daughters college. But, there’s a chance I might.

With your wife making $150k+ and you being roofer to the stars, why would you accept welfare to pay for your daughter’s college?

Certain degrees could be subsidized. In exchange you pay it back performing certain duties. Medical, you cannot refuse to treat Medicare or Medicaid patients. Legal, X amount of your work will be pro bono. Education, you teach in underperforming schools for at least X number of years. And so on. Plus you must maintain a 3.0 GPA.

The banks didn't secure the loans. Even back before the government took over the student loans in Obama's years the Federal Government backed/secured the loans.

The banks are going to get paid for it.

So who does that leave to pay? Oh No! It's the taxpayer, cause that's the only place the government can get money.

Yep. Or added to the National Debt, which we’ll never pay off.

The entire premise of student loan debt forgiveness is absurd. That 59 members of congress will benefit from it if they pass it is also absurd. No one is talking about Section 201 of the Congressional Accountability Act, I can assure you, because it has nothing to do with dissemination. All of the drivel you posted is also inapplicable to the fact that 59 members of congress stand to benefit from student loan forgiveness. Try to keep up. Also, cite your sources with a link.

According to the interwebs, AOC owes something like $19K or so in student loans. So there's one would benefit directly.

She makes like $174k per year no freaking way she should quality. If they do this there should also be a income threshold. Absolutely no one making over $100k should quality and IMO it should be less than that.

Who in their freaking mind that makes over 100k a year thinks they deserve a financial break?

Not to be a jerk but 100k ain't that much, that said they borrowed it they need to pay it. Its a simple truth.

^^^^ And this

This needs to be a hard lesson for Americans in student loan debt. Maybe the next generation will start to realize their contribution to society doesn't end with a college degree. Gotta be someone regardless. This may open up for technical schools and training for trades and such. You're either blue collar, white collar or a burger flipper and no one owes you a thing. As someone who didn't take out student loans, I refuse to pay for their mistakes. I'm already paying for my wife's.
