Cheap stainless pliers are a good idea, carbon steel get wet and the hinge point locks up with rust. Wally world sells cheap stainless pliers in the fishing section. small pair of Fiskars for the braid

pistol grip pliers are the best, that way your hand isnt in your way looking for the hooks in the fishes mouth..
