GM. This is probably a long shot but a friend just called me who was launching his boat on the two mile bridge east end. Rope broke and the boat has drifted under the second row of pilings. If anyone is out there and sees this maybe you could give him a hand. Thanks.

I'm glad someone was there to help! A rope breaking has always made me nervous and so I've always tied my boat up with two separate ropes just in case one comes loose or breaks. Did the rope break that was tied to their boat as it came off their trailer during the launch or did it break as it was tied up to a dock? I have never used a rope when launching but have seen several people that do. I'm glad that they were able to retrieve their boat. Hopefully, no damage was caused to the boat from waves pushing it into the bridge pillars.

It broke as it came off the trailer. Also wind was very light so no damage to boat or pillars.

I use a tag line when launching my boat but use a good nylon rope . Never one of those poly type ropes.
