Had A rough first half of the day on Whitney. Marking lots of fish but nothing was biting. Then at about 2 o’clock the birds started working bait snd it was on. Hooked up to this little guy.

Nice fish! What did you catch him with?

Just threw a chartreuse 1 ounce slab. Birds were just west of the bridge. Pretty sure they would have hit anything. It was in 40 to 50 foot of water but the fish were in the top half of the water column. In hindsight I wish I would have had a rattle trap tied on to one of my rods. Birds were active for at least 30 to 45 minutes.

Rattle trap with 6 hooks makes for a lot of sinning . Hook ups, net hook ups and fish with 4 or more hooks to untangle while the fish are right in front of you and you are helpless.
