Great info Ken! Makes me wonder with the big fish staying in the shallow weedy cover with surface temps of hi-80's what the temp may be under the canopy.

Great info! Are the any updates or differences between the fish being tracked on Toledo vs. Fork? Unless I missed it in one of the videos I haven't heard anything about the Fork fish being tracked.

THANKS & GIG"EM

Forgot to mention I've caught a ton of fish at Monticello in the summer when the surface temp was 102. The fish were down near the bottom in 20-25 feet near the intake for the plant. Bass are amazingly adaptable creatures and can tolerate a wide range of temps if they have enough oxygen.

I think it's similar to pad fish. I've always felt they were a different bass. They just like the shallow stuff. Often they'll be in 2ft under pads in 95 degree weather. Also, could be a perch spawn in that area the fish was taking advantage of. I've noticed it's pretty common to have 1-2 big fish hang around perch beds well into the summer

Enjoyed the series, thanks Ken! Validates a lot of John Hopes old studies.

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.
