to count in a tournament like sight fish are required to be? With the advancement of this forward facing sonar does anyone think this could be a rule change in tournaments in the future?

What? Like a crank bait fish or jerk bait fish or even a a rig fish would not count that is not hooked in the mouth?

Did you see the lake fork tournament last week, the guy was looking at individual fish and catching them with a jerkbait but getting them to react, with enough practice you could snag fish doing this

Tough to say.

What about seeing fish on traditional 2d and video game fishing?

If anyone is paranoid enough to worry about something like this, they'd be better off not participating in tournament fishing.

True but with 2d you can't tell as much how big individual fish and your not looking at them shallow like you are with the forward facing sonar. This panoptix livescope you can go around hunting and not even casting targeting larger fish, I know people are doing this with it for crappie targeting trophy fish. Its a massive advantage in a five fish tournament, not so much in MLF format.

I'm working on a prototype casting net that deploys just milliseconds before it hits the water. Looks like a Manns E-Z 30+ crankbait but it's 30 feet around and retrieves just like a 1/2oz spinnerbait... Release date is undetermined, but once it hit the market... Miller Time... Dan cheers

Makes one wonder why jet drives are still not allowed in some trails. I mean realistically Not everyone can put $10K worth of graphs on their boat, but some maybe could scrounge up $3000 for a jet lower unit. I mean wasn't it to equal the field and all...well now it’s equal...you buy what you want and I ll buy what I want.

I know yall are giving him some grief but this is the best question towards tournament fishing I've heard. I could see somebody trying to snag fish using the livescope. Now a rule for snagging takes care of that though. I definitely dont want to see the tech banned but I can also see where the argument comes from. Like emorydog is saying, they banned jets because of the advantage, what's the difference really? Again, just saying that there are some valid questions about it. I look forward to the day in 5 or 6 years when it's all live, live down, live side, and live forward all running at the same time.
