I have a 1990 cajun 174ZW in which the live well pump quit working. While removing it I noticed one of the live well drain fittings had come off at the mushroom part. The fitting through the hull was easy to push inside the hull and my son was able to reach the hose with the tip of his fingers to pull it out. I also cut and removed the other mushroom part off the other live well drain and he was able to pull that one out as well.
Now I'm thinking this will be easy putting new ones back in. Wrong, there is basically no access to the back of the boat other than a 12 x 14 access to one side of the battery compartment. I can't see it and won't be able to tighten it since it is so hard to reach. I've been looking for a drain tube that has no permanent fitting (mushroom) part that is on the outside of the hull with no luck. I would like to hook the livewell hose to a barb connected to a threaded tube then coat the nut and washer with sealant. Then insert the assembly through the hull and tighten the nut outside of the hull to snug it up and cut the excess off like I did on the live well pump.
Any suggestions where to find these parts? Transom at rear hull is around 3 inches thick and the hole is roughly 1 inch in diameter. Hose looks to be 5/8 inch id. My son fishes THSBA and we have a tournament in a couple of weeks.

I own a Cajun also, 1996 185SC. I have found that several of the assembly parts are no longer made. There are web sites that have boat plumbing parts that you can look at. I can’t remember the site’s names but I found them pretty easily. I started with Overtons and got some brand names and went from there. In my boat I had to remove all the batteries and that allowed me to unscrew the panel that covered the live well area. I could not remove it from the boat . I just rolled it down to get to the hose fittings. It was a pain. Laid on the back deck with my head stuck in the battery area. Good luck buddy! BTW use a good quality sealant on the fitting! Don’t go cheap on that stuff. 3M is good.
