I’m trying to update my reels and was told I should invest in Boca. However, I have no idea what size is compatible with my reels. I have both Lews and Revo reels. Is there a size chart available for reference?

Actually, that search function doesn’t list any of the models I use.

I'm gonna say to save your money. I jumped on the ABEC 5 then 7 then ceramic bearings using rocket fuel lube etc. over 20 years ago. Way back when there was a difference that was noticeable. These days, manufacturers of decent quality reels are putting good bearings in them from the factory. At most, I will pull the bearings, de-grease them and lube with a decent lube. I buy ABEC 5 bearings 20 at a time for replacements. I de-grease, pull the shields and keep them in a tube should I need them. Haven't bought bearings in 7-8 years. Clean, lube and you're good to go. The only difference I've seen with ceramics is that they're a bit noisier, they can be run dry without damage and will perform the best dry but they are noisy.

I will tell you very little difference between the boca abec7 hybrids and the ones you can get other places for much cheaper. But I will recommend cleaning the bearings when they arrive.

Years back swapping bearings and trying to make a reel a hot rod was the thing. High end bearings cost almost as much as a new reel. You can spend a lot of money on real bearings just to create larger backlashes!!!
Thanks, Billy

I am amazed at what fishermen these days will spend money on. I’m not😂(me included!). And ABEC 9 has got to better than 5 or 7....or maybe wait for ABEC 11!

Check out Hedgehog air bearings. I liked them better than the boca ceramic bearings for better casting distance.

I liked them better than the boca ceramic bearings for better casting distance. +1 Years ago I went from ABEC 7 Ceramic to the Hedgehog Air, I like them much better, with a shot of TSI 301. Most factory bearings in reels these days are pretty decent, just a good clean and lube will make a big difference.
