I took my daughter, her friend and my wife to Whitney today. Fishing was tough, looked all the way from past the bend north of Katy bridge, south to Towash Creek. I truly believe the prettier the day the worse the fishing. Almost no wind or breeze and bluebird skies. The only spot we found fish was between bird island and the bluffs just off the edge of the river channel in about 55’ of water. The graph was loaded with fish but were very finicky and not aggressive. I ran the thumper and had live shad and caught about 18 mixed catfish and small striper. Lots of hits on the shad but not many were aggressive to take the bait. Only 3 striper were legal size, we are catch and release so we turned them all back.

Had a fun day.
