I know there is somewhere on Denton Creek that you can walk into, to access. But what road do you take to get to it? I know you can hit it from the bridge at 377, but can you access it by Schooling road as well? Also, is there any access to Hickory Creek or other creeks up that way, that may be holding some good fish, crappie or cats preferably? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Google maps are your friend. I spend a lot of time searching for parking and creek access.

Google maps are your friend. I spend a lot of time searching for parking and creek access. Google maps, and google earth most of the photos and details are 5 years old, or more. And they don't tell if a road is gated, or blocked off. That's why I'm asking here, to hear from people that have been there recently.

No offense but that is why many will not tell you, they have put in the gas and footwork. Maybe someone will and good on them but like said above your best bet is to go and see.

You can tell everything you need to know about a creek and its access from google. Google maps to see the whole area and then street view to see if there are signs or fences. Got to get out there and look

Got to get out there and look Look up schooling Road at Denton Creek on Google maps. THERE IS NO GATE BLOCKING the road, in the imagery. That's because the picture is 6 years old. There is a gate there now, I had somebody i know that lives there go look for me. Jesus, you'd think people were asking for your honey hole. I just wanted to know if anyone had been there and if you could access the road. Which, now I know you can't. Look up lake Benbrook on Google Earth, you think that's a recent picture with the water 200 or 300 foot from the marina? I get wanting to "protect your spot, or thinking you have some knowledge no one else needs to know, but C'mon, someone asks if a road is accessible, and even explains that the satellite imagery is old and outdated, and you still wanna stiff them? Glad I'm not a fishing snob. I'll gladly share any information I know of. But, that's ok, I'll be sure to remember that if someone asks if a certain boat ramp is open. I'll just tell them to check Google maps

Hey Z, check your PM's. I'll send you a helpful Google tip. As far as Schooling Rd, I don't believe you can drive down either side.

THAT is how you do it!! Get out and explore!! One example I use is the Texas Bank Fishing Map that is pinned at the top of the bank fishing forum page. I used that map religiously, but I came to realize some of the location are now private land, too overgrown or just too scary. However, when I scouted those locations, I found even better locations off the beaten path, or locations on the way. Some of the most memorable bank fishing locations I have ever fished were found by accident. My buddy and I would follow a map (paper map) and would check out where a bridge crossed a major river or creek. Try to fish the location or drive around the location and see what we could find.

Google maps then boots on the ground. Almost as fun as catching them is finding them.
